Joe Flacco flatters Steve Atwater on air

In Flacco’s first interview with the Broncos legend he completely nailed it with what he said.

Joe Flacco has his first two wins for the Denver Broncos.

The first came before his introductory news conference on Friday when in a short video on social media he said “Broncos Country.” As I said on Twitter, “Elite!”

The second win came in his interview with Ryan Edwards, Andrew Mason and Steve Atwater on Orange and Blue 760. After Steve welcomed Flacco to Denver and thanked him for coming on the show, Flacco nailed it.

“Yeah, I’m glad to be here,” he said. “Shoot, I’m sitting at a table with Steve Atwater. That is great ... just laying dudes out. I remember growing up watching NFL Films tapes that my dad got and you’re definitely one of the great guys you got to watch back there just laying wood on guys.”

The best part of the whole sequence is Steve’s reaction to Flacco’s initial comment. You can hear him say, “Aww,” because Steve doesn’t like the attention or focus on him.

As for the rest of the interview, the guys talk about how Flacco ended up in Denver as the starting quarterback of the Broncos and his connection to new head coach Vic Fangio. It’s a fun interview and you can hear the excitement/fire that Flacco has for this opportunity.
