The Denver Broncos cut quarterback Chad Kelly after a Halloween party gone wrong that saw the young quarterback try to fight fellow teammates and then breaking into an occupied home. He was charged with first-degree criminal trespassing, but accepted a plea deal today on a lesser misdemeanor charge.

Kelly, 24, avoids jail time and must complete 50 hours of supervised probation. That’s a pretty good deal considering the original charge could have ended up with felony convictions and serious jail time.
Drafted with the final pick of the 2017 NFL Draft, he had the talent to possibly compete to play in the NFL, but talent isn’t always enough. He’ll need to work hard to get another opportunity in the NFL, but he could take the Johnny Manziel route and catch on in the Alliance of American Football.
