Draft speculation is heating up in Broncos Country

Benjamin Allbright joined 1st and 10 at 10 on Orange and Blue 760 to discuss the 2019 draft.

When Benjamin Allbright joined Ryan Edwards, Andrew Mason, and Steve Atwater on 1st & 10 at 10 on Orange and Blue 760 it was time to speculate about what the Denver Broncos would do in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Allbright, who has been appearing with Edwards in the mornings on OB760, had some insight into some of the potential players Denver could take. The most interesting discussion revolved around - of course - the quarterbacks. In the 2019 draft, the discussion always turns to three main players. Drew Lock, Dwayne Haskins, and Kyler Murray.

For Allbright, for a QB to be successful he has to show he is the guy. Lock and Haskins appear to have it, but he isn’t sold on Kyler Murray. He compared Murray to Johnny Manziel. That is not a ringing endorsement, but the playing styles are certainly similar.

Lock and Haskins are the pro-style QBs that seem to fit what John Elway likes, and what Rich Scangarello might prefer. They also have comparable styles to Joe Flacco. Then again, the Broncos may not even take a QB.

If there isn’t a QB at 10, the Broncos could go in several directions, but ILB seems to be the position of highest need. That could mean Devin Bush, who Allbright thinks is better than Devin White.

The other option Allbright put out, that seems to be a possibility, is Su’a Cravens adding some weight and moving back to linebacker, where he played in college. The one takeaway from Allbright’s visit with the show is that the Broncos have several options available to them. The draft is wide open, and it looks like everything is set up for Elway and head coach Vic Fangio to select best player available.
