Broncos made some roster changes this week

On Thursday, the Denver Broncos signed Jake Brendel and Trey Johnson, while releasing Craig Mager.

The Denver Broncos announced a couple of roster changes on Thursday. They signed offensive lineman Jake Brendel and cornerback Trey Johnson. Cornerback Craig Mager was released.

Both Brendel and Johnson participated in the teams tryout invites during minicamp this week and impressed enough for the Broncos to bring them on to compete this offseason.

Brendel has appeared in 21 games in his four seasons at both center and guard for the Miami Dolphins. While Johnson is a second-year player who spent time with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Both players ended their 2018 season on injured reserve, so hopefully the Broncos are finding some value here in two castaways from other other teams.

It was reported that Mager missed minicamp for a ‘personal issue’, which left him as the odd man out as the tryout players impressed new head coach Vic Fangio and his staff enough to earn their spots on the roster.
