We’ve hit that time of year when fans long for their precious.
That one player they desperately want snagged by their team in the NFL Draft. Sometimes there are multiple players they crave (just ask Doc). There are times there’s consensus. And sometimes there’s not.
In terms of the 2019 draft and the Denver Broncos, there is one player all of Broncos Country seems to agree is their “precious.” It just so happens he’s from Colorado and a Broncos fan. Of course I speak of Kansas State offensive lineman Dalton Risner.
If you didn’t want Risner on the Broncos before Friday, 1st & 10 @ 10 on Orange and Blue 760 will change your mind. Risner joined the guys for a fun interview but it’s this quote that will give fans all the feels.
“The way that me and coach (Mike) Munchak were talking, he likes guys that put their hand in the dirt and they play ball … he just seemed to really love the way I play the game … man, I just felt like I can play for those guys.”
If that wasn’t enough, the way Risner started the interview will solidify it. He had a meeting with the Broncos and when he was asked about it he said it was a dream come true. To shake John Elway’s hand and talk about his hometown of Wiggins.
There are times in life when things seem destined to happen. This is one of those times.
Hopefully the Broncos are able to get their precious and get Risner in the draft.
Make it happen! Please!
Bonus listen
MHR’s Jeff Essary joined the guys and chatted about the pulse of the fans heading into the draft.
