The Denver Broncos put on the shells for the first time this training camp yesterday on Day 3, which means we should see them continue to progress towards more rigorous practice sessions today and beyond. Head Coach Vic Fangio certainly doesn’t mind the pads being used.

“Full pads is full pads,” Fangio said. “No reason not to use them. That’s what you play the game in. Get used to carrying your pads, playing with game pants on and the pads on, and try and make practice as game-like as possible.”

The major highlights from Day 3 included mostly defensive dominance. The secondary stepped up with a total of four interceptions; two by Justin Simmons and one each for Will Parks and Josey Jewell. All four set up by pressure up front.

On offense, late round draft pick Juwann Winfree had the play of the day on a deep diving reception from Drew Lock. He beat both Bryce Callahan and Kareem Jackson on that reception too, which made it all that much more impressive for the young receiver.
