Update: Despite a strong first half showing and a lead, the second half gives way to a 24-15 victory for the 49ers over the Broncos.
The Denver Broncos are coming off a road defeat last week, but the first-team offense and defense looked pretty good in that early test. They will host the San Francisco 49ers this week and hold a couple of joint practice sessions leading up to their head-to-head contest on Monday, August 19, 2019.
Head Coach Vic Fangio values those joint practice sessions is to get players working with the unfamiliar.
“I think what the players learn is that they get to go against different players, go against different schemes and it’s just very valuable,” Fangio said. “Just like you do 16 Sundays during the season. Just adapting to your opponent is different. When our tackles kick out to block their edge rushers, it’s going to be different than blocking our edge rushers. That’s great for us.”
We should expect the first-team to play at least a quarter, maybe a bit longer. Kickoff is set for 6:10 p.m. Mile High time on August 19, 2019 at Broncos Stadium at Mile High in Denver, Colorado.
