Update: Broncos were defeated 10-6 on the road by the Rams.
The Denver Broncos are on the road to face the Los Angeles Rams in their fourth preseason game of the year. Less than a five days since playing their last preseason game and just five days until they play their fifth and final preseason game next Thursday.
Whoever made that schedule should be fired and hopefully the Broncos decide to just avoid playing their stars much in either of these next two games. It’s probably best for them to just focus on preparing for the regular season now. The game should be played by those fighting for a roster spot.
One key area of concern has been the special teams play in the preseason. Chris Harris Jr. said it best when noting that special teams is where a lot of the players fighting for a roster spot can make the team.
“I guess the kids don’t really understand this is how you make the team (laughter),” Harris said of special teams play this preseason. “It’s a 53-man roster. This is how you make the team, on special teams. They might have to pull out my old clips, my old highlights from special teams my rookie year. Kind of show them how I was and then they can see. Then later on in their career they might be able to play on offense or defense.”
That is where our attention should be focused on over these next two games. Which young guys will step up and make the special teams plays necessary to secure a roster spot? They have two more games to show us what they’ve got.
Game time against the Rams will be at 7:07 P.M. Mile High time on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, California.
