According to 9NEWS Denver’s Mike Klis, the Denver Broncos have released backup quarterback Kevin Hogan as they trim their roster down to 53 players.

He seemed like the favorite for the job, but his release likely means a trade is likely in play for a backup quarterback. Rookie Drew Lock will be out for awhile due to injury and Brett Rypien is likely a Practice Squad guy so a trade makes sense.
