According to ESPN’s Dianna Russini, the Denver Broncos are interested in bringing in recently released veteran quarterback Brian Hoyer to be the backup to starting quarterback Joe Flacco.

This makes a ton of sense on paper. Hoyer has experience in Scangarello’s offensive system and has worked with him and his staff before. He would also give them a veteran backup to lean on if needed while rookie Drew Lock returns from an injury.
I assumed a trade would be in play, but Hoyer’s release made Kevin Hogan expendable and likely an improvement over him as well.
