The Denver Broncos received a huge blow to their defensive line against the Green Bay Packers when Derek Wolfe went down with an apparent lower leg or ankle injury in the second quarter. He had to be carted off the field.

He was quickly ruled out for the game and we will keep an eye on this situation as it develops.
After the game, Wolfe let the media know that he was leg whipped and should be okay. He hopes to miss no more than one game.

Much later in the day the MRI results showed a high ankle sprain. Those are usually pretty hard to come back from quickly, so while Wolfe might want to think he’ll be back in a week it might be a month before he starts to feel right again on that ankle. We’ll just have to wait and see.
Initial diagnosis on Derek Wolfe is no break but serious high-ankle sprain that may sideline him awhile. MRI tomorrow.
