The Denver Broncos (0-3) are at home in Week 4 to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars (1-2). Denver is in danger of suffering the an 0-4 start to a season for just the fourth time in franchise history.

In the Something Something Broncos podcast above, Jess, Laurie, and I came to the conclusion that the Broncos are due for a win. The Jaguars are beatable team and with Denver being at home and truly desperate for that first win of the season, it sure feels like they will come away with this one.

Game Preview

The Broncos had opportunities to win last week on the road against the Green Bay Packers, but three critical errors that resulted in turnovers on led to fourteen points for Aaron Rodgers the Packers. Not all is lost, however, if the Broncos are able to start winning some games.

The Broncos are have also a good, solid week of practice. Head Coach Vic Fangio was smart enough not to fall into that trap that turned his predecessor, Vance Joseph, into a “Had Good Practice” meme.

“It’s been good,” Fangio said of the teams mood this week. “These guys are good to work with. I don’t want to paint the picture that they’re OK with it, but the work this week has been really good.”

They need this win. Then they need to go into California and steal one from Philip Rivers and the Los Angeles Chargers the following week. Then they need to put the beat down on the Tennessee Titans before they face the ever-dangerous Kansas City Chiefs.

That is my ideal next three weeks for the Denver Broncos.

Here is how to watch.

Odds

Early in the week, the Broncos held a three-point home advantage over the Jaguars. That line has remained steady all week and, as of this writing, remains the same. The over/under is a paltry 37.5 for this game.

Matchup History

The Broncos have surprisingly struggled against the Jaguars in the 25 years that franchise has existed. They are all knotted up at 6-6, but there are two games that matter the most to Broncos Country. The first came during the 1996 playoffs when the Jaguars broke our hearts, while the second came nearly one year later to the day when Denver crushed Jacksvonille in the playoffs on their way to the franchises first Super Bowl title.

Ironically, every game the Jaguars have won in this series has been by one score, while all but one win for Denver has been by multiple scores. Here’s to a blowout win on Sunday!
