FanPulse: Broncos fan confidence ranks 19th in NFL

After a 6-10 season in 2018 and an offseason of wholesale change, 19th seems to be a reasonable place for Denver Broncos fan expectations to be right now.

When I received the results from the SB Nation mothership for this weeks’ FanPulse, I noticed they had sorted all 32 team blog results by confidence level of each fanbase. The Denver Broncos fanbase were 72% confident in the team, which ranked 19th overall of all 32 NFL teams.

If I am to be honest with myself and case aside my bias, 19th is a pretty respectable and reasonable starting point for a team coming off back-to-back 10+ loss seasons. There are a lot of new faces and plenty of work to do before this franchise will be seen as a contender again. It could happen this year if everything goes well, but 72% is probably about how confident I am it will happen.

Here’s how each fanbase feels about their respective team heading into Week 1:

I would imagine the Chicago Bears will plummet next week and the Green Bay Packers will skyrocket on this list.

The FanPulse survey also had a non-Broncos related question. I actually tweeted out asking for a “None of the Above” option, but it looks like the only team that received serious consideration was the Jacksonville Jaguars here. I could see that, especially with Andrew Luck retiring and the Houston Texans doing things that may not work out for them or their fans.

Every week we gauge the confidence Broncos fans have in the direction and progress of the team. It’s a good way to see how the rest of Broncos Country might be feeling about things. You can join in on this weekly survey at any time. I participate too, so I know the survey lasts about 48 seconds from email to done.
