Kinda surprising, but not with this:
Broncos were only NFL team to finish in bottom 5 in all 4 key offensive metrics: Points, yards, third down percentage and red zone percentage.#9sports
While the Broncos offense did improve down the stretch under rookie quarterback Drew Lock, they still finished near the bottom in every category. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network has since reported that Head Coach Vic Fangio will be looking for a more experience play-caller. Expect Denver to move quickly to find Scangarello’s replacement.

UPDATE: Pat Shurmur at top of Fangio’s list of candidates
It now looks like the Broncos will be targeting former New York Giants head coach as their new offensive coordinator in 2020. Pat Shurmur is at the top of Vic Fangio’s list of candidates, so we’ll have to monitor that situation. Jason Garrett’s name has also surfaced as a potential candidate for the job.
With Rich Scangarello fired league source says Vic Fangio will move fast to secure Pat Shurmur as Broncos new offensive coordinator. Shurmur has offers from multiple teams but Broncos are his top choice in large part because of talented young core led by Drew Lock. #9sports

Update: Broncos targeting former New York Giants Head Coach Pat Shurmur to be their offensive coordinator
If Fangio can finalize deal with Shurmur as expected, it potentially would be home run for Denver. He brought along likes of young Nick Foles, Sam Bradford , Case Keenum, Daniel Jones. Consistently among league leaders in big plays. #9sports https://t.co/A3v5VKePjq
