A bit of bad news this morning. Denver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon III was cited for speeding and hit with a DUI on Tuesday night. Gordon was going 25 MPH over the posted speed limit. There is no word on punishment from the team or the league at this point. According to 9News, Gordon’s expected to be arraigned on Friday, November 13th.
Per police report Gordon was pulled over for going 71 mph in 35 mph zone.

“Upon contact, the Defendant exhibited the listed indicia of impairment: SPEECH WAS SLURRED, BREATH HAD A MODERATE ODOR OF AN UNKNOWN ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE, BALANCE WAS SWAYING, EYES WERE WATERY.” (More)
The Denver Broncos issued the following statement after the news broke this morning: “We are aware of the situation involving Melvin Gordon. Our organization has been in communication with him and is in the process of gathering more details.”
Gordon, 27, was having a solid season with his new team up to this point. He surpassed 100 yards for the first time this season and tacked on two touchdowns in the Broncos 37-28 win over the New York Jets two weeks ago.
It is unknown if Gordon will be available to play this weekend when the team travels to take on the New England Patriots in Week 6. Phillip Lindsay is expected to return from a turf toe injury and he may very well have to carry the load if Gordon is unable to play. Kareem Jackson was suspended for two games for a DUI last season. The DUI happened in September, but the league didn’t hand out the suspension until the final two games of 2019.
