In Week 6, the NFL will redo Week 5 with the postponement of the Denver Broncos road game against the New England Patriots. The COVID-19 outbreak with the Patriots organization seems to be under control and play looks to resume on Sunday.

Game Preview

Both teams will get some key starters back as both quarterbacks look like they will be a full go on Sunday. Drew Lock will return from a shoulder injury that has sidelined him since Week 2 and Cam Newton has tested negative for the coronavirus and is back with the team practicing. There is also some rumblings that both A.J. Bouye and Stephon Gilmore will return to their respective teams as well.

Given that news, the line has swung far in favor of the home team. Late last week it had dipped to as low as 3.5-points in favor of the Patriots, but as of today BetMGM has the line set at 10-points, and you can get an awesome offer to bet on this game here.

That is a big spread between teams separated by just one loss. With a spread that large, I could see a situation where New England is up big late and Drew Lock and the Broncos get a late touchdown to secure a backdoor cover. If Denver had their third stringer Brett Rypien in the game, I’m just not sure that kind of situation would happen against a Bill Belichick defense.

Here is how to watch.

Matchup History

The Broncos and Patriots have a long storied rivalry dating back to the founding of the AFL in 1960. Denver owns a 26-22 all-time advantage that includes a winning record for the 20 years Tom Brady was under center for New England. There was also an 11-0 run while John Elway was quarterbacking the Broncos offense. In the playoffs, the Broncos are also 4-1 with the one playoff defeat being the Tim Tebow run in 2011.
