The Seattle Seahawks took over the top spot in this week’s power rankings and didn’t even have to play, because the previous number one spot was held by the Green Bay Packers who were blown out in their Week 6 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
As for the Denver Broncos, they are moving up little by little. It’s crazy, but their three losses are against teams that are a combined 14-2 right now and they take on the 5-1 Kansas City Chiefs in Week 7. Not an easy climb out of the hole for Denver early on this season.
Then, of course, there are the New York Jets who are fresh off a shutout loss to the Miami Dolphins last week. There might not be a worse team in the NFL over the last decade than these Jets. I’m very glad Brett Rypien was able to win that Week 4 game for Denver against that terrible team. The Jets are the league’s only winless team, but there are a crazy number of one-win teams out there. A total of nine.
With that many bad teams, it was easy to slide the Broncos up the board to #18 this week. If they beat the Chiefs, we’re definitely see a healthy jump. I may even start thinking about potential playoff runs.
Here are you full Week 7 power rankings.
