Chiefs at Broncos odds: Denver nearly double-digit home underdogs to Kansas City

The Denver Broncos are nearly double-digit underdogs at home to AFC West foe Kansas City Chiefs. Can they pull off the upset?

The Denver Broncos have won back-to-back games to pull themselves up off the floor after an 0-3 start, but face a tough test in Week 7 with the visiting defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs. Predictably, they will be major home underdogs.

According to SportsBetting.com, the Broncos will host the Chiefs in Week 7 as massive underdogs. The spread is at 9.5-points with an over/under of 48. Oddmakers are giving little chance for Denver to upset Kansas City in this game.

I tend to agree with the oddsmakers line here. With all of the injuries the Broncos have sustained and their struggles covering tight ends puts them in a tough situation against Patrick Mahomes and that dynamic Chiefs offense. Add that to the Broncos inability to score more than 23 points in all but one game and the Chiefs inability to score less than 23 points in any of theirs and you have a recipe for a double-digit loss.

However, I’m going to go against the grain there and predict Denver will cover that spread. Being at home with the big underdog status, I’ll still give the edge to the Chiefs here but in a single score win. I’d take the under 48 points too.
