The Denver Broncos will play their first game against an AFC West opponent here in Week 7 when they host the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.

Game Preview

The game has snow in the forecast with an overnight low of 9 degrees. Yes, 9. The daytime high on Sunday will be 22 degrees with an 80% chance of snow with winds up to 15 MPH. Looking at the hourly weather forecast, the highest chance of snow chance hits its peak right around kickoff with an 18 degree temperature.

That should put some ice on the offensive firepower from both teams. The run game is going to be critical. The Chiefs are coming off a huge rushing performance in Week 6 when they put up 245 rushing yards against the Buffalo Bills.

If they plan to run the ball like they did last week then it will be strength vs. strength as the Broncos are allowing just 3.7 yards per carry against the run. The Broncos defense, without Von Miller, also ranks 6th in overall defensive DVOA.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs defense ranks on the bottom half in stopping the run at 4.7 yards per carry. If Denver can put together a run-heavy attack between Melvin Gordon and Phillip Lindsay, they could hang with the Chiefs in this type of snow game.

Here is how to watch.

Broncos Betting Odds

According to SportsBetting.com, the Broncos were 9.5-point underdogs to the Chiefs earlier this week. As for Saturday, the line had tightened to just a 7.5-point advantage for Kansas City.

Matchup History

The Broncos and Chiefs have a long rivalry going back to the founding of each franchise. Kansas City won 25 of the first 27 games against Denver. We all know the rough start to the Broncos storied franchise. Since then, Denver has a 53-40 record against their division rival that includes a playoff win back in 1997.

However, in recent years the Chiefs have finally returned to dominance beating the Broncos in nine straight dating back to 2015. That’s a streak Denver would like to end this week.

Two straight wins has really helped boost the overall confident Broncos fans have in the team heading into their Week 7 matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. If they can pull off the upset again this week, we can expect this 72% to jump significantly.
