The Denver Broncos announced on Saturday that they are elevating three players from their practice squad to the active roster for their game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. Tight end Troy Fumagalli, offensive tackle Quinn Bailey, and inside linebacker Josh Watson were all promoted to the active roster.
Fumgalli, a former fifth-round pick by the Broncos in the 2018 NFL Draft, was recently signed to the practice squad after the team announced that rookie right end Albert Okwuegbunam would be out for the season with an ACL injury. He appeared in 11 games for the Broncos totaling six receptions for 38 yards and a touchdown.
Bailey was an undrafted free agent last year who spent most of this time on the Broncos practice squad, but he did appear in one game last season for Denver. With Demar Dotson looking likely to miss a game and his backup Jake Rodgers in question as well, the Broncos will need some depth on the active roster heading into this week’s game.
As for Watson, he saw plenty of action as a rookie out of Colorado State last year. He appeared in 10 games for the Broncos and played heavily on special teams. With special teams ace Joe Jones ruled out for Sunday’s game, Watson figures to play a big role on special teams this week.
Kickoff against the Raiders is set for 2:05 p.m. Mile High time on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada. You can watch the live stream of the game through FuboTV or on your local CBS station.
