Good morning, Broncos Country!
There’s a lot to get disgruntled about when it comes to the Denver Broncos.
It’s been a long season. It’s been a long five years.
But I’m going to focus on the positives.
For those who have been around these parts long enough, you probably know that’s not my forte. However, even if we don’t see the immediate results this season, there are areas we can hang our hat on. That doesn’t make the continued losing any easier to stomach, but maybe it soothes it a skosh.
The Broncos have some big-time players on offense. Jerry Jeudy and Noah Fant will pose huge problems for opposing defenses for years to come. Imagine what those two will do when Courtland Sutton is back. Phillip Lindsay continues to show he’s the heart and soul of the offense. Garett Bolles has been the best and most consistent player on offense in 2020. We’ll see what John Elway and Denver do with Bolles come the end of the season.
On defense, where the unit has been ravaged by injuries, it continues to impress and carry the Broncos. I can only imagine how much better this unit would be if Von Miller wasn’t out.
The huge question mark is and will continue to be Drew Lock. If you include today’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders, there are eight games left in the season. That’s plenty of time for this franchise to have an idea if Lock is the guy. The only thing I would say about Lock is to practice patience on that front. At least give him the rest of the season before we make any proclamations about the future.
At least for now, I’m focusing on the positives.
They are there for this franchise.
Check back with me if the Broncos somehow get embarrassed by Las Vegas.
