Broncos start 3-6 for fourth consecutive season

The Denver Broncos are good at being bad here over the last four years. Their 3-6 start to 2020 will match their starts in each of those last four seasons too.

In the midst of suffering through those final few minutes of the Denver Broncos 37-12 blowout loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, I saw a tweet fly in from Zach Bye that pretty much summed up what we’ve all have watched from this franchise over the last four years.

The first nine games in each of the last four seasons have not been kind to the Broncos. Under Trevor Siemian in 2017, they had a faster start and then a complete collapse ending in a 5-11 season. Then in 2018 we saw Case Keenum arrive. His 3-6 start ended in a 6-10 disappointment. Onward to 2019 with three different starting quarterbacks, that 3-6 start rallied into a 7-9 hopeful finish.

Now here we are again. Consistently 3-6 year after year. Where will the Broncos end up over the last seven games? They surely won’t get to 8-8, not with the schedule they are faced with down the stretch. How many wins do you see on the calendar?

Two maybe? Given how they have been playing, this team might drop one of those two winnable games like they did two weeks ago against the Atlanta Falcons.

If that happens, quarterback is once again at the top of the to-do list for John Elway and the Broncos front office heading into 2021.
