The Denver Broncos have had a rough week on the COVID-19 front. They lost defensive coordinator Ed Donatell and offensive guard Graham Glasgow just before their last game, then both General Manager John Elway and CEO Joe Ellis tested positive.
They will be without Glasgow again in Week 9 against the Atlanta Falcons, but may also be without defensive lineman Shelby Harris too who was exposed to the virus. While he has tested negative every day since, there is some doubt on his availability for Sunday’s game.
“I’m not exactly sure yet,” Head Coach Vic Fangio said of Harris’ availability. “There’s a chance that even if he’s negative now and [the rest of the week], he still might not be able to play. We’re sifting through all that with the league.”
That’s bad news for the Broncos defense, because they’ll also be without cornerback A.J. Bouye who was concussed by his own teammate, Kareem Jackson, last Sunday and has been ruled out for this game as he goes through the concussion protocol.
Also questionable for this game is cornerback Bryce Callahan with an ankle issue and wide receiver Tim Patrick who has been nursing a hamstring injury.
