The Denver Broncos received a big boost on the offensive side of the ball with running back Phillip Lindsay and wide receiver Tim Patrick both active for this game. However, the defensive side of the ball takes a massive hit as both starting cornerbacks will be inactive. A.J. Bouye is in the concussion protocol and Bryce Callahan has an ankle issue that will sideline him this week.
With the Atlanta Falcons sporting both Julio Jones, the Broncos secondary will be a huge liability without their two best cornerbacks in the lineup this week. The good news for them is that their other star wide receiver, Calvin Ridley, has been ruled out with an injury of his own this week. They will also be without Dante Fowler on the outside, which will hopefully help Drew Lock have extra time to throw the ball in this game.
Overall, the Broncos only have four gameday inactives. That is the lowest number I’ve ever seen and could be related to the COVID-19/Reserve list that includes several Broncos starters right now. Shelby Harris will not be playing as he was never activated off that list.
