The Denver Broncos defense came out and forced the Carolina Panthers into a three and out. Drew Lock and the Broncos offense came out and quickly found themselves across midfield. Lock then found KJ Hamler deep for a 37-yard touchdown pass to blow the game wide open for Denver.

Brandon McManus continued his bad day with a horrible miss on the extra point.
Broncos 19, Panthers 7.
Teddy Bridgewater and the Panthers offense got things going in response to the Broncos touchdown drive. The drive stalled out just inside the 20 yard line to force a field goal attempt.
Broncos 19, Panthers 10.
The Broncos were able to avoid a three and out as Lock bootlegged and threw to Troy Fumagalli for a 14-yard gain and a first down. Then on the very next play, Lock rolled out and found Tim Patrick wide open for a 33-yard gain and another huge gain.

Two plays later, Lock found Fumagalli again - this time for a touchdown. The 31-yard touchdown was a short screen that he turned upfield for the touchdown.
After review, the touchdown was overturned, but the Broncos were setup at the two-yard line. Lock would get his touchdown pass anyway as he completed a toss to Tim Patrick to extend the Broncos lead.

There was a penalty on the converted extra point that the Broncos elected to enforce. They went for the two-point conversion and failed.
Broncos 25, Panthers 10.
The third quarter would end with the Panthers driving down the field. They would lead off the fourth quarter at the Broncos 11 yard line.
