Broncos could pick anywhere from 5th to 15th in the 2021 NFL Draft

Here are all of the possible ways the Denver Broncos could land in the final 2021 NFL Draft order after next week.

Well, we have one more week to go Broncos Country. We can put this season behind us and begin to look ahead to next season.

Currently at 5-10, the Denver Broncos hold the 10th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. They are tied with that record with four other teams, but Denver’s strength of schedule assured they will pick last of any teams with the same record as them.

Current 2021 NFL Draft Order - Week 16

Pick Team Record SOS
Pick Team Record SOS
1 Jacksonville Jaguars 1-14 .548
2 New York Jets 2-13 .593
3 Miami Dolphins via Texans 4-11 .542
4 Atlanta Falcons 4-11 .550
5 Cincinnati Bengals 4-10-1 .527
6 Philadelphia Eagles 4-10-1 .531
7 Detroit Lions 5-10 .504
8 New York Giants 5-10 .506
9 Carolina Panthers 5-10 .529
10 Denver Broncos 5-10 .567
11 Dallas Cowboys 6-9 .465
12 Los Angeles Chargers 6-9 .490
13 Minnesota Vikings 6-9 .508
14 New England Patriots 6-9 .533
15 San Francisco 49ers 6-9 .544

With one game to go, everything is in flux for the Broncos. A perfect draft order situation could bump Denver all the way to the 5th overall pick, but a win could knock them all the way to the 15th overall pick.

Here are the games that matter (teams in bold need to win) if you are looking for Denver to move up the draft order next week with a loss to the Las Vegas Raiders.

  • Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions
  • Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants
  • New Orleans Saints at Carolina Panthers
  • Baltimore Ravens at Cincinnati Bengals
  • Washington Football Team at Philadelphia Eagles

If I were being realistic, I could see the Lions, Giants, and Eagles all winning next week. More than likely one of those teams will lose, so I’m going to predict the Broncos end up with the 8th overall pick if they lose next week.

Now if they win, which beating the Raiders is never a bad thing in my book, things could get ugly draft-wise for the Broncos if the bolded teams lose.

  • Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions
  • Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants
  • Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs
  • New York Jets at New England Patriots
  • Seattle Seahawks at San Francisco 49ers

Of these games, I think two to three of these teams should win their games. However, if the Chiefs rest their starters then that would be good for Denver. If the Broncos win, I think they’ll likely end up with the 13th overall pick.

So while they could get anywhere between 5 and 15, the realistic range is 8-13 in my opinion. With this season lost, I’ll be happier the higher the draft pick they have coming April. How about you?
