The Denver Broncos (5-10) are looking to end a difficult season with a win over the Las Vegas Raiders (7-8). Both teams have struggled over the last two months with the Broncos losing four of their last five and the Raiders five of their last six.
All eyes are on 2021, however, and Head Coach Vic Fangio was asked what they need to do to become a playoff team this time next year.
“We just have to make a lot of improvements, obviously,” Fangio said. “We have to get healthy; we have to improve as players and coaches—we’re all in this together. I say many times that players and coaches are teammates, and we have to improve in those areas. We have to make the plays when they’re there to be made. We have to call good plays. We have to execute better, and obviously getting guys back healthy will play a big part in that, we hope.”
The injury bug was particularly nasty in 2020, but they’ll need Drew Lock to take care of the football much more than he has in his second season. He leads the league in turnovers and that is never a good recipe for a playoff run. For now, they just need to go steal one more win away from this season and end things on a high note.
Kickoff is set for 2:25 p.m. Mile High time on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado. You can watch the live stream of the game through FuboTV or on your local CBS station.
