It’s been an eventful first week of free agency for the Denver Broncos. On Something Something Broncos this morning, we reviewed each of the moves Denver made and discussed how good or not good they were. Before we get into that, here is a break down of what John Elway and Vic Fangio have done so far.

Overall, every move seemed to make the team better without handicapping the future like the Miami Dolphins with their lavish contracts and the Las Vegas Raiders signing anyone and everyone they could to blow up their roster another year. Instead, they replaced players they were losing with talent of equal or greater value and saved salary cap space while doing it.
The only move the three of us disagreed on was the trade of Andy Janovich. The 2021 seventh-round pick they got in return actually cost the Broncos $1M in dead money with no cap savings at all. While he was a bit of a fan favorite, his role in the future on this offense evaporated with the firing of Rich Scangarello and the hiring of Pat Shurmur. So on that level, I understand why they wanted to get something for a guy who wasn’t going to make the roster in this new offense.
Laurie and Jess have given the Broncos a solid B or B+ for free agency so far, but I went ahead and gave them an A. It’s just been an all around solid start to the 2020 league year. Looking at the whole picture so far, how would you grade the Broncos free agency after the first week?
