What the world needs now is Peyton Manning on MNF

I do not say this lightly, Peyton. We need you. We cannot suffer through ESPN’s Monday Night Football crews any longer.

Hey Peyton -

Rumor has it you may be thinking about joining ESPN for Monday Night Football?

Listen, you and I go way back. All the way to 2014. We bonded over the loss in Super Bowl 48. We made it through a tough 2015 season, ultimately celebrating together over Super Bowl 50 (well, I mean, we were in the same stadium!).

I’ve written you countless letters (you could write me back, y’know?! Now that you’re retired and have some free time. I know you’ve had that little passion project, “Peyton’s Places” and the “Details” film breakdown. Still, it’s not like those are real jobs. Just sayin...).

But I point is that I always have your best interests in mind. Also mine. But I have yours too, I promise.

So when I tell you that you need to be on Monday Night Football, this is not just me looking for some entertainment, pining for the good ol’ days of MNF when I was kid watching Al Michaels, Frank Gifford, John Madden, Dan Dierdorf.

No. This is me begging you to save us once again.

But this time it’s not just our Broncos’ offense. It’s our society at large. This world is stupid enough right now that no one should have to suffer through Booger McFarland. Monday Night Football is one of our traditional entertainment escapes, our last drop of football from the weekend before a long week of hard work and just waiting for Sunday games. And it’s been total crap.

Just watch this:

Tell me you could barely make it through those three minutes? It’s insufferable. We don’t need any more suffering, Peyton. We need you.

So pick up the phone, get Al Michaels on board, feel free to grab your yellow Howard Cosell blazer and wig (yeah, I saw that “Peyton’s Places” know I’m a fan) and get to that broadcast booth. Pronto!

The world does not need more crap - but it does need more Peyton Manning.

DENVER BRONCOS: WR JOHN HIGHTOWER, BOISE STATE: The Broncos are in search of a complementary option to Courtland Sutton. Sutton took a massive step forward last season, but the options at receiver opposite him were lacking. DaeSean Hamilton led the group with just 28 receptions. Henry Ruggs is a popular first-round target, but if the Broncos decide to go elsewhere in Round 1, Hightower will be available later in the draft. He could give the Broncos the deep threat they’re looking for while allowing them to address other needs early, or even doubling down at wide receiver.
