Jerry Jeudy is a 6’1”, 193lb wide receiver who played his college ball at Alabama. He ran a speedy 4.45 40-time at the NFL Combine back in February. He was widely ranked as the best or second best wide receiver in the draft and the Broncos were able to get him at 15th overall without having to trade up. A big-time steal here if you ask me.
Here’s what The Athletic’s Dane Brugler had to say about newly drafted Denver Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy whom they selected in the first-round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
SUMMARY: A two-year starter at Alabama, Jeudy was the “H” receiver in offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian’s offense, lining up inside and outside and on both sides of the formation. He became just the second receiver in school history with back-to-back 1,000-yard receiving seasons, benefiting from an elite passing attack with Tua Tagovailoa at quarterback and dynamic receivers spread across the field. Jeudy can run every route in the playbook and is a very quarterback-friendly target with his ability to separate, making sharp, collected cuts at full speed that defenders can’t match. Everything he does is quick, including his ability to snare-and-secure throws, but focus drops plagued his tape, especially over the middle. Overall, Jeudy doesn’t have the ideal body type or play strength, but his combination of play speed, brake-and-balance skills and route savvy allow him to uncover anywhere he wants on the field, projecting as an impact NFL receiving target.
He’ll play inside and outside in Pat Shurmur’s offense and should start day one for the Broncos. He cans serve as their deep threat, be a weapon in the open field(Shurmur loves screens) and be a reliable target in the quick passing game.
Jeudy could become a star in the @Broncos offensive system. Pat Shurmur loves route runners (see MN w/Diggs & Thielen) so it’s not surprising to see JJ go here. Versatile WR w/a plug and play game that should enable him to become their WR1 in time #NFLDraft

I love this pick. It’s a great fit and John Elway looked incredibly happy when they showed him on the telecast.
