In the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos have selected wide receiver/returner K.J. Hamler from Penn State.

K.J. Hamler is a 5’9”, 178 pounds speedster out of Penn State. He didn’t run at the Combine but is speed in undeniable. The Broncos wanted to add weapons, speed and play-making ability to their offense and they did just that.

They took Jerry Jeudy in the first-round to serve as their number two receiver and likely a main focus in the offense while Hamler can serve as a gadget player who can take it to the house whenever he gets the ball in his hands. Whether it be via end arounds, screens, quick slants, a deep pass. I like the pick, especially in this role in the Broncos offense.

It is a slight surprise that they doubled down on receiver, but it does make a lot of sense. As I said, they wanted to add weapons and speed and they did just that.

Tell me what you think Broncos Country?
