What makes Ojemudia such an interesting pick is what he tells Broncos’ Country about Fangio’s scheme. Coming from the Iowa Hawkeyes, the 22-year old played just a little over 100 snaps in press alignment last year while also logging far more snaps in zone coverage than man. He finished his final season with 12 pass defensed and 3 interceptions and is hailed as a team leader.
He’ll bring to the Broncos a level of physicality they were missing outside of Chris Harris Jr. for the better part of last season. I like that Ojemudia should bring the Broncos a player who is well versed in off coverage and has the kind of length to impact passing lanes. He shows an ability to key the QB when he’s in coverage and his understanding of zone spacing is promising.
