Broncosfansd Mock Draft 25.0 - Mock Perfection!

Well good news the NFL Draft is now 13 Days away!!! I can't wait.

I still believe the NFL should do what Adam Schefter recommended - 1 round a day for 7 days. This would KILL the ratings and give GM's extra time because some are home. It would be AMAZING.

15th Pick in the NFL Draft - All 3 Top WR's are gone and the OT's. The Denver Broncos get a call from The Jacksonville Jaguars they want to trade their 1st and 3rd to us for pick 15. Jacksonville lost both starting CB's from last year = Ramsey and Bouye thru trades. Denver trades the pick. Jacksonville drafts CJ Henderson #2 Ranked CB from Florida.

20th Pick in the NFL Draft - The Denver Broncos select WR - Justin Jefferson - 6'1" 202 lbs - I see Jefferson as a Ju Ju Smith-Schuster clone. Denver drafts him and puts him in the SLOT and he PRODUCES.

Jon Ledyard #4 WR - Jefferson can block, fight for yardage after the catch and is outstanding at knowing how to adjust his patterns against different coverages in order to consistently get open. His savviness is his best trait, and it’s why any quarterback he ends up with will love him. The LSU junior may never be the splash play, 17-yards-per-catch machine that guys like Ruggs and Jeudy are, but Jefferson will provide more than his fair share of value in his own way.

Year 1 Outlook: Starting slot receiver in any scheme

Year 3 Outlook: Growth against press coverage could add to Jefferson’s versatility, making him more of a vertical threat on the outside than he was as a rookie, thanks to his 4.4 speed and terrific ball skills.

31st Pick in the NFL Draft - The Denver Broncos trade their 2nd and 3rd #85. SF does not have a 2nd or 3rd Round pick - they get both in the trade down.

31st Pick in the NFL Draft - The Denver Broncos select - Jeff Gladney - CB - TCU - 5'10" 191 lbs - ran a 4.48 forty - Denver gets this Excellent CB.

Strengths
  • Combines instincts and urgency in coverage
  • Excellent hand usage and strength to re-route the release
  • Zig-zags pedal to stay in front of receiver
  • Operates with route anticipation
  • Eye balance between quarterback and receiver
  • Recognizes high-low route combos from zone
  • Closing burst for instant bounce and pounce on the ball
  • Takes playmaking angle on the throw
  • Sticky in man coverage playing ball over receiver
  • Snakes in well-timed, play-side arm to bat ball away
  • Heat-seeking missile as blitzer
  • Very willing demeanor as tackler

TRADE ------------ Denver trades its 3rd #73 from Jacksonville and 4th Round Pick to Seattle for the 64th Pick in the Draft - Last Pick in 2nd Round.

64th Pick in the NFL Draft --------------- The Denver Broncos draft - RT - Lucas Niang - TCU - 6'6" 315 lbs - If Niang's hip checks out Denver gets a STEAL end of 2nd Round.

Overview
Dancing bear with good agility and a great football IQ. He doesn't carry his weight proportionally and looked heavier/slower in 2019, but he clearly has NFL starting talent. Niang is a scheme-diverse run blocker with athleticism for move blocks and technique/leverage to open running lanes with power. He plays with top-notch awareness and instincts in pass pro, but he's an early opener in his pass sets and I'm not completely sold he can meet edge burners at the top of the rush on a consistent basis. The medicals need to check out on the hip, but he's a help-now right tackle prospect who should be a long-time starter.
Strengths
  • Widens and centers into contact
  • Hands and hips work in unison as run blocker
  • Strikes, leverages and uproots his foes
  • Moves well laterally and gains ground in open space
  • Physical ability to handle all run-blocking schemes
  • Patient to second level but lands with pop
  • Uses length to maintain feel on first and second levels
  • Will alter slide speed to mirror potential inside counters
  • Eyes wide open for twists and blitzes
  • Inside arm feels for three-techniques looking to twist
  • Drops a sudden anchor to battle speed-to-power
  • Athleticism to recover from missteps and odd positioning
  • Good showing against Chase Young and Nick Bosa in 2018

3rd Round Pick #77 -------------------- Turrell Burgess - Safety - Utah - 5'11" 206 lbs - Ran a 4.46 at Safety. Fangio will love him.

Overview
Utah is known for developing defensive talent and Burgess is the latest success story to emerge from the program. The cornerback-turned-safety plays with uncommon discipline and field vision despite just a single season as full-time starter. Teams love his versatility and ability to play nickel, but matchups against speed could cause some issues. He plays with good instincts and closing burst from high safety looks but doesn't have the striking ability to concern targets working the middle. Burgess' versatility, athleticism and feel for pathways to tackles in run support could make him a valuable middle-round pick with a chance to find the field early on in a variety of roles.
Strengths
  • Lauded by scouts, coaches and teammates for his preparation
  • Has ability to align the backend
  • Reads play development and has field awareness of a pro
  • Has tools for interchangeable safety and nickel roles
  • Disciplined with good recognition of misdirection
  • Tough for quarterbacks to manipulate in two-deep
  • Avoids rub routes and slips screen blocks in space
  • Athletic, twitchy feet with early burst to cover at nickel
  • Change of direction is sudden and efficient
  • Great poise, balance and technique as tackler
  • Takes smart angles both downhill and near the line
  • Four-phase special teams experience
