Broncos suddenly find a familiar foe on 2020 schedule

We’d like to extend a warm welcome to Cam Newton.

You remember Peyton Manning’s last game don’t you? Cam Newton certainly does.

On Sunday, it was announced that the New England Patriots signed former Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton.

On Sunday, October 11 (pandemic permitting) the Denver Broncos descend on Foxboro to face the New England Patriots with their new quarterback. It remains to be seen which version of Cam the Pats are getting. Will it be the NFL MVP of 2015 that marshaled his Panthers team to the Broncos most recent Super Bowl win? Or, will it be the Cam Newton who won just 6 games over the last 2 seasons, mostly due in part to an injury to his left foot that kept him sidelined for most of 2019.

Regardless of how good or how bad Cam may be in New England, the fact remains that on a warm day in early February to close out the 2015 season, the Denver Broncos got the better of Cam and his Panthers and brought home the ultimate hardware.

...and we’ll always have this.

Best of luck in New England, Cam.
