The defense continues to have its way for the most part early on during Denver Broncos training camp practices. With a new offensive coordinator and a solidly young core on offense, it is expected to have some growing pains on that side of the ball. Especially against a top veteran defensive unit.
This first week of camp would be especially difficult for the young offense, but they have had their flashes. In particular, Jerry Jeudy has shown he’ll be a problem for NFL defenses from the start and Drew Lock’s ability to escape pressure is another thing that might be needed as the offensive line has not be sharp to start camp.

Welcome to #Broncos Camp Day 5. Coach Fangio getting in his morning steps. One thing noticed is that he’s more conversational this year with players across the roster. He’s not just DC running team. #Denver7 pic.twitter.com/k8fKSTGx2c

Bradley Chubb and Davontae Harris are off to the side today. No Noah Fant or Nick Vannett out there. Broncos in shells, not full pads.

It's brutally hot out here today. As Homer Simpson once said, "I'm sweating like Roger Ebert."

Nick Vannett got knocked around a bit yesterday. Held out as precaution. #9sports

It is a small thing that can lead to something big. #Broncos @VonMiller has been leading drills in camp. This follows his promise to lead differently. He is bigger and stronger and taking on a larger leadership role. #Denver7 pic.twitter.com/xYamVFjRZF

Without Noah Fant or Nick Vannett at practice, Jake Butt will get plenty of reps to show his stuff

Courtland Sutton with a drop of Drew Lock's pass in 7-on-7.
— Andrew Mason (@MaseDenver) August 19, 2020
Pretty, pretty pass from Lock to Sutton.
— Aric DiLalla (@AricDiLalla) August 19, 2020
Probably 40ish yards in the air, if I had to guess.
Josey Jewell picks off a batted ball in the red zone. Jeff Driskel had completed a few nice balls to get inside the 20, but another nice play from the third-year inside linebacker, who is putting together a strong camp.
— Nick Kosmider (@NickKosmider) August 19, 2020
30-yard TD from Lock to Sutton.
— Aric DiLalla (@AricDiLalla) August 19, 2020
Those two are picking up where they left off last year.
#Broncos @SuttonCourtland showing out. Catches TD as Jackson and Callahan collide in end zone. No injuries. Afterward, Jackson and Lindsay talk trash from across the field. Those two provide soundtrack everyday. Love the intensity. #Denver7
— Troy Renck (@TroyRenck) August 19, 2020
NICE catch by Troy Fumagalli ... back left of the end zone in first-and-goal from the 10, with Yiadom in coverage, Lock locates him and Fumagalli reaches up to pluck the ball for the score.
— Andrew Mason (@MaseDenver) August 19, 2020
Back-to-back good plays by the defense in the red zone.
— Aric DiLalla (@AricDiLalla) August 19, 2020
Simmons PBU on pass for Jeudy, Bouye PBU on pass for Sutton.
Bouye has been everything the Broncos hoped in camp thus far.

Nice catch and run from Tyrie Cleveland to get into the end zone. Really turned on the burners. Seems like every time you look up, No. 86 is making a play.
