The Denver Broncos continue their training camp today with Day 6. On Wednesday, Courtland Sutton burned the defense on several deep touchdown receptions from Drew Lock. However, the defense still seemed to win most of the battles that day.
With training camp being shortened a clip, Head Coach Vic Fangio was asked if he would be holding any scrimmages since there are no preseason games this season.
“We’ll do some live tackling, live drills,” Fangio said. “I don’t know that a full practice will be a full out scrimmage the entire two and a half hours that we can be out there. We are planning a practice down in the stadium. Next week we’ll do some there. We’re going to do some here this week. We’re going to constantly mix it in, but I don’t think we’ll have a full practice devoted to that if that’s what you’re asking.”

#Broncos getting loose. Nothing says training camp like theme to Rocky. Coach Fangio is Philly guy so feels like his fingerprints are on this playlist. #Denver7 pic.twitter.com/ZMDeedV2zT

Mike Munchak at #BroncosCamp today (https://t.co/ZOC7MQMAyl): “I’m excited to work with Garett Bolles for a second year. I expect him to pick up where he left off towards the end of last season and be very stable for us this year.” pic.twitter.com/UY3k8MRZHK

Jeff Driskel just opened up a red zone period with a dome to Albert Ochocinco in the end zone

Offense scores in red zone twice and #Broncos @SuttonCourtland let’s @ReemBoi25 know it. “That’s two!” The intensity is good for practice. #Denver7

Out-on-a-limb prediction time: Courtland Sutton will catch A LOT of passes this season.
— Nick Kosmider (@NickKosmider) August 20, 2020
Really strong rush by Jurrell Casey to blow up another red-zone play.
— Aric DiLalla (@AricDiLalla) August 20, 2020
He's been borderline dominant inside. Clearly still has plenty left.
Shelby Harris gets a sack as Broncos bring blitz pressure up the middle. Jurrell Casey moving bodies in the middle.

Lloyd Cushenberry getting work with the 1s in the red zone.

#Broncos offense with strong red zone showing. Players believed they scored five times. Might have been four. Regardless, group looked good #Denver7

Highlights from the Broncos 1st team period in the Red Zone. Drew Lock round Sutton and Jeudy for TD’s and Lock ended the period running one in for 6. We saw Morris & Cushenberry at Center with the 1s and a bunch of WRs & RBs getting mixed in as well. #BroncosCamp @KOAColorado

A.J. Bouye just picked off Drew Lock in 7-on-7. Looked a bit like Tim Patrick didn't expect the ball to come his way.

Lock with a deep connection to Jeudy on a play action post. Jeudy beat Justin Simmons in coverage.
— *RK (@RyanKoenigsberg) August 20, 2020
Jeudy just snagged a deep one from Lock. The impressive part was setting Simmons up. Sold it deeper. Stopped on a dime.
— Benjamin Allbright (@AllbrightNFL) August 20, 2020
Simmons was reading player not ball.
Jeudy just gets the nuances of the position for beyond his years.
Bryce Callahan makes another play in pass coverage.
— Aric DiLalla (@AricDiLalla) August 20, 2020
Perhaps the most pleasant surprise of training camp.
Phil Lindsay with a really nice catch on an out. Drew Lock ripped it because AJ Johnson was bearing down in coverage and Lindsay plucked it and turned it up into open space.
— *RK (@RyanKoenigsberg) August 20, 2020
Justin Strnad makes a play in the run game, then shows tight coverage on Jake Butt.
— Aric DiLalla (@AricDiLalla) August 20, 2020
Butt caught the pass, but brought down immediately for a short gain.
A day after Fangio said nice things about LB Justin Strnad he is showing up all over the field. Just met Bellamy in the hole for a big hit and next play tackling Jake Butt in coverage on a shallow cross. Good day for the rookie. #BroncosCountry @KOAColorado

Tyrie Cleveland works back to the ball and makes a nice catch with Michael Ojemudia in coverage.
— Aric DiLalla (@AricDiLalla) August 20, 2020
Cleveland has had quite a few catches today.
Todd Davis being helped off the field by trainers. Not putting much weight at all on one leg.
— *RK (@RyanKoenigsberg) August 20, 2020
After the defense dominated most of the period, Drew Lock finishes it off with a great throw to Tim Patrick up the left sideline in-between the zones.
