The Denver Broncos enter Day 7 of training camp. This will be their sixth straight day of practice, but they finally get a day off tomorrow. Yesterday, the offense had a pretty good run against the defense. However, there was a cost as there were several injuries to report that will keep at least one starter out for several weeks.
After practice, Head Coach Vic Fangio gave an update on both KJ Hamler and Todd Davis.
“KJ’s got a hamstring that he’s been trying to work through,” Fangio said. “He hadn’t been able to do that. He’ll be on the shelf for a couple weeks. Todd hurt his leg there. I wasn’t sure. It kind of happened towards the end of practice on the other side of the field from where I was at. I’m not sure yet. I don’t have anything to report there.”
Those are two players we’ll need to keep an eye on as they try to work back from injury. Here are all of your Day 7 updates from Broncos Camp.

Peyton Manning to @SteveAtwater27 on the Broncos' offense: "I'm a quarterback defender, so I'd say let's understand that it won't be perfect early on. Things will get better as the season goes along. ... I still think you can win games as you're finding your way."
— Aric DiLalla (@AricDiLalla) August 21, 2020
Manning to team website: "With new OC Pat Shurmur & with Drew as QB it’s going to take a little bit of time for them to get on the same page. It’s not going to happen overnight. ... You take all that out and now you’re trying to cram for a test that is coming in a couple weeks."

"He's got a little swagger. He's got a little edge to him. And I think that's a good thing."
Malik Reed steps in for Von Miller and Josey Jewell steps in for Todd Davis.

Josey Jewell getting some run with Todd Davis out.
Royce Freeman, taking advantage of extra reps with Gordon out, runs a nice circle route out of the backfield for a big gainer from Lock.

Offenses clunky in the early going here.

#Broncos @jsimms1119 Knocks does pass intended for Albert O in end zone from Lock. Not sure how much Albert O plays this year, but he’s threat and mismatch in red zone and on third down. #Denver7

Kareem Jackson is playing physical during this team period.
— Aric DiLalla (@AricDiLalla) August 21, 2020
Would’ve had a TFL vs. Lindsay and then sniffs out a screen.
I don’t know everything but I do know it’s going to be extremely tough to run against the interior of this #Broncos defensive line. They’re putting on a clinic today in practice. Every yard is a battle. Love to see it
— Ryan Edwards (@redwardsradio) August 21, 2020
Lock would’ve been sacked, but stays with the play and gets picked off by Justin Simmons.
— Aric DiLalla (@AricDiLalla) August 21, 2020
The defense has been borderline dominant today.
It has gone overlooked because it’s become expected at this point, but Justin Simmons is just always in the right place. Paid off with that interception on a Lock overthrow, but that’s just latest example.
— Nick Kosmider (@NickKosmider) August 21, 2020
Royce Freeman making plays as a receiver out of the backfield. #BroncosCamp ILB strughling with RBs and TEs today. Strnad let Freeman get open a couple of times. @1043TheFan

Lock hits Sutton on on right side for 15 and finds him again in the flat for short gain.
Throw away followed by 10-yard completion to Patrick, short completions you Freeman & Fum
Move-the-ball period ends with controversial catch in end zone from Tim Patrick. Offense says he was in, defense says they stopped ‘em for the W.
— Zac Stevens (@ZacStevensDNVR) August 21, 2020
Next and final play an incomplete pass out of end zone from Lock to Jeudy.
Albert O makes the difficult catches look easy...and the easy ones look challenging.
