According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Broncos inside linebacker Todd Davis will be sidelined 2-3 weeks with a calf injury that he suffered during Thursday’s practice.
#Broncos LB Todd Davis is expected to miss 2-3 weeks with the calf injury he suffered in practice yesterday, source said. Good news that he has a chance to get back for Week 1.— Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero) August 21, 2020
He’ll obviously miss the rest of training camp, but the good news here is that he could be back before week one. It’ll be close, but it’s not nearly as bad as it could have been.
Davis was carted off the field on Thursday and it was revealed he suffered a calf injury. If you remember, Davis suffered a calf injury last year and missed the majority of Training Camp and the first handful of games in 2019. So, a two or three week timetable is definitely good news for the Broncos and Davis.
With Davis only being out a couple of weeks, I don’t see the Broncos making any major moves in the meantime at inside linebacker. Look for Josey Jewell to get the run with the first-team defense the rest of camp and potentially in week one. Also, look for rookie linebacker Justin Strnad to get some reps as well.
Either way, this is some positive news from an injury that seemed rather serious yesterday.
