Fans may not have the chance to sit on the bump and watch, but they were given a treat on Friday morning.
Throughout Denver Broncos training camp, Steve Atwater hosts a show on the team’s YouTube and social channels. On Thursday, it was announced that Peyton Freaking Manning would join the Hall of Fame safety.
As Matt Boyer pointed out on Broncos Country Tonight, some didn’t believe Manning would do it. It’s kind of like the disbelief PFM played four years for the Broncos. I know that’s the case with me. I know No. 18 played in orange, but it still doesn’t feel real.
But after 9 a.m. on Friday for the start of Denver’s practice, there he was.
On Friday’s Broncos Country Tonight, Boyer joined Ryan Edwards and Benjamin Allbright to offer insights on Manning’s and Atwater’s broadcast. They also talked about what the season opener against the Tennessee Titans will be like without fans in attendance and observations on camp position battles.
“To sit to next to Steve Atwater, right?” Boyer told the guys. “I alluded to it on our broadcast, but we’re kind of getting a preview of what we’re going to see in Canton in 2021 with the 2020 (Hall of Fame) Class and the 2021 Class. Being on the same stage.”
For those who missed it, it’s worth rewatching.
I joined Ryan and Ben to talk about the expectations of the defense, what the Todd Davis injury means for the defense and how Broncos fans will react if Drew Lock has some up and down performances this year.
