He’ll earn $3 million this year and his four-year deal begins in 2021, so the Broncos have locked McManus down for the next five seasons. According to Mike Klis of 9News, the deal has been in the works for several months.
McManus came to the Broncos to replace fan favorite Matt Prater in 2014. He struggled mightily and was the source of a lot of frustration with fans and even players that year. He worked hard and changed his kicking style to come back with a vengeance in 2015. He has been solid ever since.
The 29 year old will likely end up spending most of his career with the Broncos when this is all said and done. He and Von Miller are the only players left on the roster from their Super Bowl 50 championship team.
