The Denver Broncos defense came out and swarmed all over Derrick Henry to force the Tennessee Titans into a three and out to open up the second quarter.

Brett Kern boomed a punt deep and Diontae Spencer caught it at the three yard line instead of letting it go and after a return out to the 14 yard line and a blocking in the back penalty, the Broncos were pushed back to their own seven yard line.

Back to back runs by Phillip Lindsay netted nine yards. Melvin Gordon subbed for the third and one play call. From the shotgun, Drew Lock was flushed out and under pressure but he found Tim Patrick for a first down.

Lock threw it out side to Gordon on a quick toss and as he turned up field he coughed up the ball where the Titans were able to recover just outside the red zone.

After Derrick Henry was stuffed, Ryan Tannehill hit a wide receiver over the middle for a short gain. Dre’Mont Jones jumped offsides to give the Titans a third and inches. That mistake helped the Titans feed Henry down to the three, then another short gain down to the 1. The Titans would punch it in from there to tie the game up at 7.

The Broncos have Lindsay start the next drive after the Melvin Gordon fumble was turned into a touchdown by Tennessee. He would take the first down hand off for three yards. On second down, Drew Lock throws a dart to Fant for a first down out to the Titans 44-yard line.

Lindsay had a short gain on the next first down, but a hard pass from Lock to Jake Butt bounced of his hands to put them in a long third and nine. Lock went back to Fant, this time for a short pass who turned it up field for a huge 31-yard gain and another first down.

Gordon took the next hand off outside for a tough nine yard gain. Lock fumbled another snap, but was able to pick up the ball and run for two yards and a first down.

With both Lindsay and Gordon in the backfield, Lock tossed it over the middle to Lindsay who caught the ball and turned it up field for a first down to the Titans two yard line.

Lindsay ran it up the gut for a one yard gain on first and goal. He would come out on second down in favor of Gordon. Lock tried a play action pass to Nick Vannett on the next play, but he was overthrown. Gordon was stuffed for a short gain on third down to force a fourth and less than a yard.

Pat Shurmur got cute on a roll out that the Titans defense sniffed out to stuff them at the one yard line for a turnover on downs.

On the Titans first play from the one, Bryce Callahan found himself one on one outside against Henry and did just enough to push his momentum out of bounds at the three yard line. Corey Davis got wide open for a 23-yard gain on the next play.

The two minute warning came after a three yard gain by Henry to the Broncos 29-yard line. Out of the break, Kareem Jackson knifed his way through the muck to knock Henry down for a short gain.

Ryan Tannehill continued to find the open wide receivers as he hit another wide receiver at the Broncos 42-yard line for a first down. Corey Davis then caught a ball passed midfield. A.J. Bouye was injured on that play and was taken to the locker room.

The Broncos moved Essang Bassey into the slot and Callahan outside where Tannehill immediately went after Bassey for a nine yard pass. A.J. Browns got his first reception in the game on the next play for a first down at the Broncos 24-yard line.

On first down, Jurrell Casey batted down a Tannehill pass. On second down, Tannehill was sacked by Jeremiah Attachou to force a third down.

Tannehill threw it low at the first down marker where it would be ruled a catch, but after a review the ruling was overturned to bring the Titans field goal unit out. Shelby Harris then ended the Titans hopes of taking a lead into halftime by tipping the ball.

7-7 at halftime.
