The Denver Broncos are winless through the first two weeks and will host Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3. A slew of injuries to their best players threaten to derail Denver’s season and their fate now rests on the shoulders of quarterback Jeff Driskel.
“I obviously think prep is better than no prep, otherwise we wouldn’t practice,” Offensive Coordinator Pat Shumur said of Driskel getting a week to prepare. We’d just pass out the gear and go play. I think that goes without saying. In terms of the mental component, I’m not really sure. I think most guys will say they’ll perform better if they’re prepared so I think moving forward that will help him in the long run. Some guys are different. I think what defines what a really good backup quarterback is a guy that can go in and play well without very many reps. Some guys are like that.”
With Driskel in, the Broncos made a game of it with the Pittsburgh Steelers last week and that is what they hope to see from him this week as he duels with Brady on the other side.
Kickoff is set for 2:25 p.m. Mile High time on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado. You can watch the live stream of the game through FuboTV or on your local FOX station.
