Broncos have cut DL DeShawn Williams and waived S Douglas Coleman III

The Denver Broncos have reportedly released defensive lineman DeShawn Williams. The 27-year old undrafted free agent in 2015 has bounced around the league spending time with four different teams and even played with the Calgary Stampeders earlier this year.

He returned to the Broncos for a third stint on August 15 and had a relatively quiet training camp. However, he knows the system well and could be called back in at some point during the regular season.

Denver also waived rookie safety Douglas Coleman III. He was a ball-hawking safety from Texas Tech who went undrafted this year. He had a relatively quiet camp, but could be in play for the Broncos 16-man practice squad. He finished his college career with 137 tackles, 1 sack, 9 interceptions, 15 pass defensed, 2 forced fumbles, and two defensive touchdowns.

This move likely secures a spot for Trey Marshall on the initial 53-man roster.
