George Paton brings refreshing change to the Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos introduced their new GM George Paton yesterday. It looks like a welcomed change to this fan.

We’ve finally gotten introduced to the new General Manager of the Denver Broncos in George Paton and I have to say, I found the new voice at the helm at least initially to be quite refreshing to me as a fan of the team.

5 years of failure without any significant signs of the team trending in the right direction lead to this place. It is a place where something, somewhere has to change if your team is indeed interested in winning football and competing to be the best.

At least on the surface, what I see in George is a person who is a professional in this area of work and most importantly a team-oriented leader. He talks about collaboration, making the “Broncos decision,” and wanting diverse input in order to make the best solutions. All of that makes a lot of sense to me and strikes me as something that we haven’t truly had from a GM in a long time.

I also get a feeling of no-nonsense from Paton. If he deems that the problem with our team is the talent at one position or another, you will see action on that and likely in the short term.

The popular topic in Denver is always the quarterback and debate has been hot and heavy about Drew Lock this season. We’ll see really soon what George Paton thinks about the QB situation based on what offseason moves he makes.
