Mike Klis says that all indications point to Vikings assistant GM George Paton to being the front runner for the Broncos GM job

According to 9NEWS Denver’s Mike Klis, all indications are pointing to longtime Vikings assistant General Manager George Paton being the front-runner for the teams vacant General Managing position.

Paton is interviewing for the job today so it sounds like, if he wants the job, it is there for him. At least, that is what 9NEWS Denver’s Mike Klis is implying in the article released earlier today.

All indications are George Paton, the longtime assistant general manager for the Minnesota Vikings, is the Broncos’ GM candidate to beat — providing Paton doesn’t take the Detroit Lions’ job instead.

Many have reported, theorized, and assumed the Chicago Bears assistant Champ Kelly was the favorite for the job. Klis himself called Kelly the co-favorite for the job along with Paton recently so it’s interesting to see if something happened to make Paton the lone favorite now.

The Broncos are meeting with both men today virtually so we may have a better idea of how they feel after the interviews have concluded. The team has a total of five interviews scheduled, but right now, it seems like a two-horse race between Paton and Kelly to replace John Elway as the Denver Broncos General Manager.
