We’ll be eyeing the Denver Broncos 2021 NFL Draft from now until April as they hold the ninth overall pick. You can make a lot of difference on your long-term roster by hitting on those rare Top 10 pick opportunities.
One of the biggest NFL mock draft gurus out there is ESPN’s Todd McShay, He released his first post regular season mocks this week and he has the Broncos selecting an inside linebacker with that ninth pick.
9. Denver Broncos
Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, ILB, Notre Dame
Still no Justin Fields? It’s a legitimate possibility and something I considered heavily here, but I think Denver ultimately will give Drew Lock another year to prove he’s the guy. Cornerback is another position to watch, especially with Alabama’s Patrick Surtain II still out there. But I love Owusu-Koramoah’s range, instincts and suddenness. He found his way into just about every statistical category in 2020, including racking up 11 tackles for loss.
It’s interesting that McShay had quarterback Justin Fields falling in his mock here. I think with a new General Manager incoming for the Broncos, he would absolutely pull the trigger here on Fields with this pick. That’s just my hunch on that one.
What do you think Broncos Country? Would you be happy with this pick if a guy like Justin Fields were still on the board?
