Broncos playoffs hopes could get a massive boost with a win over the Steelers

As the Broncos schedule gets tougher, this is a game that could push them into the playoffs.

Good morning, Broncos Country!

You hate to label a Week 5 game a “must-win,’ but this is pretty close.

The fact this game is even classified as a winnable one for the Denver Broncos is rather remarkable. When the 2021 schedule was released, most listed today’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers as a loss.

But after four weeks, here we are and the Broncos have a great chance to head back from Pittsburgh with a win. Yes, Denver has more questions than answers right now, but it’s in a better spot than the Steelers.

What should help the Broncos is the return of Teddy Bridgewater. Teddy 2 Gloves will hopefully be able to return to what he was the first three games of the season. What will help is having both Graham Glasgow and Dalton Risner back at their respective offensive guard positions.

As for the defense, Denver needs to make the Steelers one dimensional on offense. Pittsburgh is dead last in yards rushing per game. That needs to remain the case after Sunday. If that happens, Von Miller and Co. will be able to wreck Ben Roethlisberger (or whoever plays quarterback for the Steelers).

If the Broncos want to make the playoffs, this is a game they need to win. As the rest of the schedule toughens up, they need to take advantage of these winnable games.
