We are back at it this week after I was ‘gone fishing’ last weekend in the Idaho mountains for my 43rd birthday weekend. Fortunately, I was driving during most of the game and only got to see the almost comeback - so that was fun.
Most of us have the Denver Broncos beating the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday in a close tight-knit game, but one staffer went full negativity predicting a blowout road win for the silver and black. Collectively, however, we have the Broncos winning 24-21 over the Raiders.
Here is how we see things playing out individually.
Broncos 23, Raiders 16
This game could go either way. The Raiders are a dangerous team with the upheaval of Jon Gruden’s sudden departure. While I don’t expect them to rally for Gruden, but I do expect them to rally around each other and that is a dangerous thing for a Broncos team reeling from back to back losses. I don’t care though, somehow the Broncos will find a way to keep Derek Carr frustrated and the score low on their way to a 4-2 record. - Tim Lynch
Broncos 23, Raiders 20
Broncos are going to win this game 23-20 with a dramatic walk off field goal to finish Vegas as time expires. Dre’Mont Jones, Von Miller, and the front seven will do enough to stifle the Raiders rushing offense and make Derek Carr uncomfortable, but there will be a blown red zone trip or two by the offense that keeps things close. - Joe Rowles
Raiders 31, Broncos 17
I really badly want to be wrong about this prediction, but I’ve seen our team look out of their depth from a coaching and performance standpoint for two weeks in a row. What do we have to go off of that indicates the Broncos are going to do better? The Raiders (even without a HC) are a talented football team with a legit starting QB. That’s a recipe for a loss for this 2021 Denver Broncos team. - Sadaraine
Broncos 34, Raiders 21
The Broncos bounce back. The Jon Gruden saga will probably be a galvanizing force for the Raiders, but not this week. It’s too much too fast, and Denver should have the motivation to get back to winning. Teddy and the offense will have to get back to playing like they did in the first 3 weeks. I think they will. Von Miller loves playing against Derek Carr. It should be a nice turnaround game. - Adam Malnati
Broncos 24, Raiders 21
While I will never predict a Raiders win, especially when Mike Shanahan is getting inducted in the Ring of Fame, I have a bad feeling about this game. I have no confidence in this coaching staff not getting outcoached by a team that doesn’t even have a head coach. Maybe Shanny can script the first 15 plays for the Broncos? Always and forever a Raider Hater. - Ian St. Clair
Broncos 20, Raiders 17
I think after the past two weeks, Denver wants to feel victory again. Von Miller was really talking up Derek Carr’s ability of reading a defense and getting the ball through with or without an offensive line to protect him, and that respect for Carr will come with an urgency to outplay him. The Broncos are not going into this game “comfortable” or satisfied, and that’s going to help them buckle down when this rival shows up at Empower. I’m anticipating some turnovers in our favor/more time for Denver to have the ball, and this week the offense will make the most of those possessions. - Elizabeth Nicholson
Broncos 27, Raiders 24
The Broncos get down early against a reeling Raiders team, but this week the comeback succeeds and the Broncos win on a late field goal 27-24. - Joe Mahoney
