Teddy Bridgewater still highly effective against the blitz

The Broncos’ quarterback situation has been a topic for much debate this season, but one area that has stood out has been Teddy Bridgewater’s performance against the blitz. Teddy Bridgewater has been blitzed roughly 23% of the time and has been under pressure on 29.3% of snaps. Zach and Russell Wilson are the only other quarterbacks who rank above that mark.

Yet, per PFF, Teddy Bridgewater’s EPA against the blitz has been nothing short of stellar. Only Kyler Murray and Matthew Stafford are eclipsing his mark in this stat.

Bridgewater’s ability to stand tall in the pocket with rushers flying around has been a noticeable improvement over Drew Lock, and that’s translating into the performance on the field. He’s always done a good job of managing pressure despite Denver’s offensive line playing poorly this season so far.

Hopefully with Jerry Jeudy returning, this leads itself into more explosive plays through the air for the rest of the season.
