Broncos trading Von Miller to Rams

The Denver Broncos are moving forward with a rebuild as they traded Von Miller to the Los Angeles Rams for two Day 2 picks in the 2022 NFL Draft.

According to multiple reports, the Denver Broncos are trading 8-time Pro Bowl edge rusher Von Miller to the Los Angeles Rams for second and third round picks in 2022. Denver agreed to pick up $9 million of Miller’s remaining $9.7 million salary for 2021 as well, so no cap space will be freed up for the Broncos.

The move signals the reality that general manager George Paton is moving on from 2021 and looking to the future. Trading the franchises best player since Champ Bailey all but seals the fate of the current coaching staff in this bloggers opinion. Paton will ride this season out and go into full rebuild mode next offseason.

Miller will take his surefire Hall of Fame career to the Rams. His time in Denver produced eight Pro Bowls, three first-team All-Pro selections, NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, Super Bowl MVP, and the 2010s All-Decade Team. He will be sorely missed by Broncos fans, but his place among the all-time Broncos’ greats is assured regardless of how his career in Los Angeles goes.

I look forward to when his Ring of Fame pillar is unveiled someday in the far off future.
